Edward John Prucha
1944-2013

Ed Prucha
Son of Mary and Lumir Prucha.
Grandson of Nora and John Brennan and Clara and George Prucha.
Brother to Mary Lou Dent, Jim Prucha, Nora (Bernie) Marino,
Cathy (Jud) Hall, and Rick (Chris) Prucha
died of complications from his long fight against COPD.

Ed held many jobs in his lifetime, including as an employee at
Beacom Hardware in Omaha, NE during and after high school,
working as a distributer for a book company in Chicago,
moving east and working for Avon Books in New York as a
proof reader and editor before moving north to Massachusetts
to work with a group to deconstruct and reclaim wood from old barns.
He had his own business as an all-around handyman,
he became a computer expert, learned the indexing business,
and finally settled down in his beloved state of Maine.

Ed was also a member, co-founder, and past president of
The Maine Indexers Group, as well as a member of
EdIndex, Services for Publishers

We have determined Ed edited or wrote the index for
several hundred books and periodicals.

Ed was a computer tutor for individuals and organizations,
including the Lincoln County Court House,
the Lincoln County Sheriff Department,
and the Lincoln County Emergency Management
as well as a local newspaper, while in Maine.
Ed will be missed by many whose lives
he touched and those who loved him.
May he now rest in peace.
